Monday Around The SEC: Week Six Recap

Last week was the first of several seperation Saturday's around the SEC, and the game of the week didn't disappoint as Florida held serve in The Swamp and knocked Auburn from the ranks of the unbeaten in a top 10 showdown.
Florida 24 Auburn 13: Gus Malzhan and Auburn faced Florida for the first time in nine years and the game lived up to the hype of a matchup between two undefeated and top 10 ranked teams. Auburn freshman quarterback Bo Nix looked like a freshman at times and did not have the magic to pull off a comeback in this one. Florida's Kyle Trask was injured, left the game and then returned to lead the Gators to the win and set them up for their next battle with an undefeated this weekend against LSU.
LSU 42 Utah State 6: Speaking of LSU, the Tigers did what they do, pounding Utah State and putting up ridiculous stats. Next up, Florida in Baton Rouge this coming Saturday and we will see how Joe Burrow does against the first real defense he will face this season.
Georgia 43 Tennessee 14: The Vols scored first, but Georgia scored most and walked out of Knoxville still unbeaten. Freshman quaterback Brian Mauer threw his first career touchdown pass as a Vol to give UT an early lead. It was a competitive first half before the Dogs pulled away. Like it or not, the Vols just might have found themselves a quarterback, or at least someone better than what they had early in the season.
Ole Miss 31 Vanderbilt 6: After sitting through this one and then having to drive home from Oxford- by way of spending the night in Memphis- there's really not much else one could say here without being repetitive and piling on. Side Note: The Nashville Hot Chicken Ole Miss served up in the pressbox was quite good.
