The 2023 Virginia football season is right around the corner. As we continue to preview the season, we’re using the ESPN Analytics Matchup Predictor to forecast UVA’s win-loss record in the 2023 season. 

September 2nd: Virginia vs. Tennessee (Nashville)
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 9.6% chance to win

September 9th: Virginia vs. James Madison
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 66.8% chance to win

September 15th: Virginia at Maryland
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 19.7% chance to win

September 22nd: Virginia vs. NC State
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 27.5% chance to win

September 30th: Virginia at Boston College
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 40.5% chance to win

October 7th: Virginia vs. William & Mary
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 93.5% chance to win

October 21st: Virginia at North Carolina
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 13.9% chance to win

October 28th: Virginia at Miami
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 13.4% chance to win

November 4th: Virginia vs. Georgia Tech
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 52.6% chance to win

November 9th: Virginia at Louisville
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 21.5% chance to win

November 18th: Virginia vs. Duke
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 41.4% chance to win

November 25th: Virginia vs. Virginia Tech
ESPN Analytics: Virginia 49.9% chance to win

ESPN Analytics predicts Virginia to go 4-8 overall and 1-7 in the ACC, but coin-toss games against Georgia Tech (UVA 52.6%) and Virginia Tech (VT 50.1%) could go either way and less certain games like Boston College (BC 59.5%) and Duke (Duke 58.6%) give the Cavaliers opportunities to raise their win total.
