Have yourself a night, Trey Murphy III.

In one of the most efficient scoring performances in the entire NBA this season, Trey Murphy III dropped a season-high 30 points to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a blowout 136-104 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.

Murphy's efficiency was off the charts as he made nine of his 11 field goals, including 6/8 three-pointers and 6/7 from the free throw line. He also added four rebounds, two assists, and one steal and was +34 in 36 minutes of action.

Murphy was lighting it up from beyond the arc as he has all season, but his most impressive highlight of the night was an incredible crossover move to get by his defender before elevating for a thunderous slam dunk that just about brought the house down at the Smoothie King Center.

The Pelicans entered the weekend having lost ten games in a row and desperately needed to win at least one of their back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday to get back on track. Behind two solid performances from Murphy, the Pels won both. Murphy had 21 points and five rebounds to help New Orleans take down the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday and then Murphy followed that up with his brilliant 30-point showing on Sunday lead the Pelicans to a crushing victory over the Sacramento Kings, who are currently 3rd in the Western Conference standings.

This weekend, Trey Murphy III took another big step towards becoming a star in the NBA, which is only fitting as he is set to compete in both the Jordan Rising Stars event and the Slam Dunk Contest during NBA All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City in a couple of weeks.
