Steve Forbes added another key piece to the 2023 recruiting class today, landing four-star guard Parker Friedrichsen out of Bixby, Oklahoma.

Friedrichsen had been committed to Notre Dame since November 2022 but decommitted in January after it was announced that head coach Mike Brey would be stepping down at the end of this season. Wake Forest offered Friedrichsen on Feb. 10, then he took an official visit the very next day on Feb. 11, nine days before announcing his commitment on Feb. 20.

Friedrichsen stands at 6-3, 195 lbs. and has been praised by 247Sports director of scouting as "a highly skilled guard" and "an excellent three-point shooter, but more versatile scoring threat than he gets credit for." He holds a four-star ranking on 247Sports and averaged 27.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 4.0 apg during his 2021-2022 varsity season.

Joining Danish commit Marqus Mitrovic Marion and Aaron Clarke out of Brewster in New Jersey, Friedrichsen is the third member of Wake's 2023 recruiting class.

"I went out there and I absolutely loved it," Friedrichsen said of Wake Forest in a recent interview. "From the facilities, to the living to going to a game and seeing the fans. Not to mention the basketball side of things. What they are about, the style, the opportunity and of course coach Forbes. Everything clicked."
