At the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, young mountains emerged.

Even with a pandemic in effect, top high School linemen from the western states still gathered over the weekend in Orem, Utah, for a competition in the trenches hosted by Giant Skillz Athletics.

Josh Conerly, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound junior-to-be at Seattle's Rainier Beach High School, showed why he's considered one of the nation's top offensive tackle prospects for the class of 2022.

With different moments of his performance turning up on social media, Conerly demonstrated his extremely nimble feet that go with his ample and still developing frame.

No wonder he's a priority player for Alabama, California, Oregon, USC and Washington. Those appear to be the leaders among the 21 schools that have offered him a scholarship so far.

In the first clip tweeted out, he goes against Mitchell Leppke, a two-way end from Visalia, California, and receives instant feedback from his competitor.

Conerly and the others competed on the football field used by the Orem High Golden Tigers, which is surrounded by the southern tip of the Wasatch range. Orem, a town of 100,000, is located north of Provo and Brigham Young University, which is not in the running for the Seattle big man. At least not yet.

Just a few people appeared to be wearing masks, which are highly recommended in most public settings these days. Here's hoping that everyone came away healthy from this close-quarters event.

While he was away, Conerly received plenty of support from relatives back home as he was on a quest to further his development and budding reputation.

When the two-day competition was over, the Seattle product posed for a photo, looking weary but satisfied.

It's going to be an interesting process to see who can gain a college commitment from the talented Mr. Conerly.
