3-Star QB Becomes Inaugural Member of Washington's 2025 Class

In this story:
A talented quarterback is integral to a successful football team, so kicking off the class of 2025 with a commitment from a signal-caller seems like a good thing for the Washington Huskies. Jackson Kollock, a 3-star recruit, announced his commitment to the UW on Monday while his lead recruiter, offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, was giving his weekly news briefing.
Currently ranked as the nation's 44th-best quarterback, Kollock, a product of Laguna Beach High School in Southern California is a promising prospect with excellent arm strength.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, he also possesses top-tier size, which seems to be something that is very important to Grubb and the coaching staff.
110% committed 🐺☔️

I’m very grateful to be committed to @UW_Football Thank you to my family, coaches, and teammates for helping me through this process. Go Dawgs! @KalenDeBoer @GrubbRyan @Laguna_Football @johnshanahan71 @GregBiggins @adamgorney @jerretmcelwain @CoachDanny10 pic.twitter.com/PxqooIU4nP
Kollock was among the close to 50 prospects in attendance for Washington's 36-33 win over the No. 8 Oregon Ducks and told 247 Sports' Greg Biggins it didn't take long for him to come to a decision after watching that game.
“That Monday night after the visit, I FaceTimed with coach Grubb and told him I was ready to be a Husky,” Kollock told Biggins. “They honestly made it a very easy decision for me.
“I know Washington was the place to be for me. They have one of the best, if not the best coaching staff in the country and one of the best fanbases as well. They’re going to be a dominant program for a while and I’m very excited to be a part of that.”
He committed to Washington over seven other offers, which included Colorado, California and Minnesota.
Kollock was impressed with what the school has to offer, saying, "Washington checked off all the boxes for me and then some."
“I know Washington has a few other ’25 offers out there but they said they were only taking one quarterback so I wanted to jump on that spot before someone else could," Kollock said. "It feels great to have the decision out of the way early. It’s one less decision I have to worry about and now I can just focus on school and getting ready to be a Dawg.”
Through nine games in his junior season, Kollock has thrown for 2,564 yards and 38 touchdowns, and appears to be improving every week. Washington looks like it's in line to pull in a substantial recruiting class in terms of both size and caliber of recruit, and he has a chance to grow into a 4-star prospect by the end of his senior season.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
