Could 4-Star Linebacker Kamar Mothudi End Up In Seattle?

The Huskies seem to be turning up the pressure on the four-star linebacker from California.

Washington's coaching staff is looking to take at least one more linebacker in the class of 2024. It did a great job of earning a commitment from St. John Bosco prospect Khmori House and adding Los Alamitos standout Kamar Mothudi to the mix would give the Huskies two of the best prospects on the West Coast.

Before taking his official visits, Mothudi cut his list down to five schools: Oregon, Michigan State, Texas, Utah and Washington. But recent signs seem to show that he's down to two programs, Oregon and Washington.

Mothudi, who is currently ranked as a four-star prospect and as the 176th overall player in the country by 247 Sports, has received multiple "crystal ball" predictions to Oregon. As his July 10 commitment date looms, it looks like the Huskies are attempting to make a late push to secure his services.

There's a chance the Ducks might not have room for the coveted linebacker, which the Husky staff could be using as part of the recruiting pitch. Oregon is heavily in the mix for five-star linebacker Justin Williams from Texas, as well as four-stars Dylan Williams and Brayden Platt.

Mothudi took his official visit to Washington on June 16 and could also start to hear some pressure from another visitor from that weekend, four-star edge rusher and Husky commit Dominic Kirks.

When you turn on his film, it's easy to see why co-defensive coordinator William Inge has turned picked up the pursuit of Mothudi. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder pops right away, showcasing speed, power, and a high football IQ on both sides of the ball.

He uses his time at running back to help him identify holes and shoot gaps both as a blitzer and against the run. With breakaway speed that he uses with the ball in his hands, he's a weapon coming downhill on the defensive side.

Mothudi tackles very well and is also proficient dropping back into pass coverage. He sees the whole field and has advanced instincts when in zone coverage. He's excellent at passing off opposing receivers and quickly identifying where he needs to be on the field.
