Huskies Couldn't Sign One Touted Spanaway Cornerback, Offer Another

In this story:
Kalen DeBoer's University of Washington football recruiters couldn't convince one Spanaway Lake cornerback to stay home and play for them.
Yet the good thing about the continuous college football talent hunt is there's always someone else coming up through the ranks, maybe from the same high school, even the same position and possibly better.
Following the coaching change, the Huskies couldn't prevent 4-star Spanaway Lake corner Jasiah Wagoner from signing with Oklahoma in the class of 2023.
They've now turned their attention to the guy who started opposite him for the Spanaway, Washington, school, offering a scholarship on Friday to the Sentinels' D'Aryhian Clemons, a 2025 recruit and 3-star prospect who obviously is two years younger, a tad bigger and most likely faster than his highly regarded former teammate.
He's also that elusive local recruit DeBoer has been searching for with others, such as Wagoner, feeling the need to leave the Northwest.
#AGTG After a great conversation with @KalenDeBoer I would like to say I’m thankful for an offer from @UW_Football @CoachJuice6 @TFordFSP @BrandonHuffman @RealMG96 @Murdock_02 pic.twitter.com/fa8iddsY7o

The 6-foot, 170-pound Clemons has wowed the talent scouts at recent recruiting events with his flat-out speed. He was the fastest player timed at a recent National Prep Showcase, with a 21.6 mile-per hour metric while turning in a 4.40-second 40-yard dash.
As sophomore, Clemons started opposite Wagoner for a 7-3 Spanaway Lake team in the Tacoma suburbs. He appeared in every game and came up with 12 tackles, a tackle for loss, an interception and a pass defend.
In comparison, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Wagoner, soon to be joining the Sooners, played in eight Sentinels games and turned in 41 tackles, a tackle for loss, an interception and 4 pass break-ups.

As shown in the above video, Clemons has noteworthy athleticism, recently registering a personal-best high jump of 6 feet and 5 inches. There's a lot to like about him.
Besides the Huskies, he holds offers from Louisville, WSU, California and Nevada.
