Huskies Extend Offer to Good-Sized Cleveland Edge Rusher

In this story:
Seattle already has one DK who impressively fills out a football uniform, so why not pursue another?
Taking a comprehensive look at talent across the upper Midwest, Kalen DeBoer's University of Washington staff zeroed in on Cleveland and on Thursday extended a scholarship offer to Dominic "DK" Kirks, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound edge rusher from Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School.
A Class of 2024 prospect and rated as a 3-star player, Kirks is no secret to recruiters as he now counts 16 offers, with the best ones coming Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, West Virginia, Pittsburgh and the UW. He'll visit Ohio State on March 23.
"Striving to not only get to the next level, but to play at an elite level at the next level, then again and again," the highly motivated kid posted on social media.

Originally a defensive lineman, the already well-developed Kirks hails from a high school with longstanding tradition in this football-rich region of the country and carries that wieldy name.
Alums include wide receiver Desmond Howard, the 1991 Heisman Trophy winner for Michigan and an NFL player; defensive tackle Mike Golic, who played at Notre Dame and in the NFL and became a popular ESPN radio talk-show host; and quarterback Elvis Grbac, who led Michigan to three Rose Bowls.
Howard and Grbac, for that matter, were on the receiving end of a 34-14 loss to the Huskies in the 1992 Rose Bowl that provided the UW with a perfect 12-0 season and a national championship.
Villa Angela-St. Joseph, which sits one block from the Lake Erie shoreline, is so named because it represents the merger of all-girls and all-boys catholic schools in 1990.
Kirks, whose defensive stats were unavailable but was nimble enough to catch passes and score at least two touchdowns, lined up for an 8-3 playoff-bound VASJ team that had just eight seniors on it.
Seattle already welcomes DK Metcalf at the NFL level. DK Kirks might fit in, as well.
