Huskies Host 2026 Running Back from SoCal for Boise State Game

The University of Washington football team not only opened the season against Boise State last weekend, it also hosted one of the nation’s top 2026 running-back prospects in the country.
Deshonne Redeaux, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound recruit from Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, California, made his first trip to Husky Stadium this past weekend.
The UW is one of 19 schools that have offered the sophomore and appears to have made a strong first impression.
“Appreciate the hospitality that the University of Washington gave, was a great experience and most def(initely would be coming back,” Redeaux wrote on Twitter after his unofficial visit.
Redeaux is ranked as the No. 58 overall recruit in the ’26 class, according to 247Sports, and the No. 4 running back in the country. He currently is one of two players at his position in his class to hold an offer from the Huskies, along with Javian Osborne from Forney, Texas.
UW offered the sophomore back on April 19, before several other programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Oklahoma, and USC, joined the list this summer.
After rushing for an even 500 yards on 64 carries and three touchdowns as a freshman at Oaks Christian, Redeaux already has four rushing in just three games as a sophomore.
His per game rushing average has more than doubled this season at just under 95 yards per game, up from 45.5 as a freshman on just 25 carries.
Over the summer, UW wide-receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard secured a commitment of one of his Oak Christian teammates, senior receiver Justice Williams, which should help the Huskies’ chances in respect to Redeaux.
