Huskies In the Running for Arizona Offensive Tackle -- Again

Ben Lowther is a super-sized offensive tackle from Arizona who previously entertained a scholarship offer from the University of Washington football team, only to pass on the Huskies in favor of committing to Stanford last November.
However, this past January 6, the 6-foot-8, 320-pound recruit from Centennial High School in Peoria and the Class of 2027 decommitted from the Cardinal following the coaching change to Tavita Pritchard.
On Wednesday, he went down a familiar pathway again, with Lowther the second time around narrowing his college choices to four schools -- including Stanford and Washington once more, plus Arizona and Arizona State, according to recruiting analyst Adam Beadle.
Lowther, a 4-star recruit, is scheduled to take an official visit to the UW on June 5, this after touring ASU on May 1 and Stanford again on May 29 and finishing up at Arizona on June 19, according to 247Sports.
So there's still hope for Jedd Fisch's staff in adding yet another oversized lineman to the Husky mix after picking up 6-foot-6, 340-pound John Mills from San Francisco in 2025 and 6-foot-5, 321-pound Kodi Greene from Los Angeles and 6-foot-7, 356-pound Dominic Harris from Las Vegas this past year.
Fisch obviously believes his offensive line has to be enormous to compete in the Big Ten.

Lowther played for a 9-5 Centennial team this past season coached by Andrew Taylor after spending the two previous seasons playing for Taylor's father, Richard.
By now, the big offensive tackle should be fairly well versed on Seattle and many of its sporting possibilities -- his Centennial High School is located just two miles from the Mariners baseball stadium used during spring training.
Lowther also told the Whoa Sports website he listens to Seattle's Alice in Chains grunge music before each game to get himself in the right frame of mind to play well.
The Huskies first offered Lowther on May 12 last year and now get a second chance to add him to a recruiting class currently ranked as high as No. 9 nationally.
The commitment received last week from defensive tackle Jon Ioane from Tustin, California, greatly elevated the UW's latest talent-gathering efforts, which include10 committed players, seven of whom are defensive recruits.
Lowther is the son of a mechanical engineer, which is one reason he originally was headed to Stanford.
However, the Huskies have had very good luck in landing Arizona-produced players, with five currently on the roster, including four starters in quarterback Demond Williams Jr. , wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck and safeties Alex McLaughlin and Rylon Dillard-Allen.
The UW currently holds commitments from two Arizonans in the Class of 2027 in wide receiver Zerek Sidney from Desert Edge High in Goodyear and running back Jeremy Adejanyu from O'Connor High in Phoenix.
