Eleven days after declaring Las Vegas will always be a recruiting target for his program, Kalen DeBoer had his University of Washington football staff return to "Sin City" and on Tuesday extend a scholarship offer to offensive lineman in Seuseu "SJ" Alofaituli.

A 4-star prospect, the 6-foot-3, 295-pound Alofaituli plays for Bishop Gorman High School, which has supplied the Huskies with a pair of current starters and honors candidates in wide receiver Rome Odunze and linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio.

The UW also depends on offensive tackle Troy Fautanu, another starter and hyped player, and wide receiver Germie Bernard, both from Liberty High School in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson.

Alofaituli, a Class of 2025 prospect who played for a 14-1 Gorman team last fall, is building a similar reputation based on the recruiting attention he's received so far. ESPN ranks him No. 8 in its top 300 for his class.

The UW became Alofaituli's 19th offer, joining Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma Oregon Penn State, Tennessee and USC, among others.

Alofaituli, who has a little belly on him yet a strong lower trunk, has been making the rounds of the various football camps, notably the UA Next Future 50 in June. Physically, he resembles Fautanu at a younger age.

DeBoer was at Pac-12 football media day in Las Vegas on July 21 when he was quizzed about the UW's recruiting footprint in the city.

"The hotbed of football here is a big deal to us and our program," the UW coach said. "We will always recruit here. We will come here often and make sure we understand who's on every in the Vegas area, that's for sure."
