Huskies Make a Play for 2025 Local Tight End, Offer Scholarship

In this story:
Kalen DeBoer, for all the good things that have happened in his 18 months in charge of the University of Washington football program, says the Huskies need to recruit local players at a higher rate.
DeBoer's staff signed three homegrown prospects when it first arrived in wide receiver Denzel Boston, tight end Ryan Otton and safety Tristan Dunn.
It took three more in cornerback Caleb Presley, edge rusher Jacob Lane and center Landen Hatchett in the last recruiting cycle.
The UW currently holds a commitment from quarterback EJ Caminong for 2024.
While maybe Washington state's overall football talent pool lately maybe hasn't been all that extraordinary, Noah Flores, a 2025 tight end from Graham-Kapowsin High, is one of those everyone feels is a must-have player.
On Friday, the Huskies made a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Flores, who added it to his growing list that also includes Arizona, Hawaii, Louisville, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State and Washington State.

After transferring from Silas High School (formerly Wilson), Flores played just five games for Graham-Kapowsin in the suburban Tacoma area in 2022 before and after breaking an ankle.
It was enough to give everyone enough of a preview of what he can do.
Flores showed himself to be a fierce blocker, caught 17 passes for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns and even made 3 tackles giving linebacker a try for a 10-3 playoff team.
"It was pretty evident — his natural physicality and his ability to run routes — the physicality and willingness to be physical that he brings is something we've always liked to have at G-K," coach Jeff Logan told Scorebooklive.com.
Taking note of all of this, DeBoer's staff brought Flores in on April 17, in the final week of spring ball, to look over the program, meet everyone and take some publicity shots in a Husky uniform.
Thus continues an important local football courtship for the UW.
