In this story:

Jonah Smith is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound wide receiver for the Mater Dei High School football powerhouse in Southern California, someone who currently holds 11 scholarship offers.

Imagine how much interest he might spur once he gets his career going.

With offers handed out earlier and earlier, and based more on outside non-contact competition and 40 times, Smith is a Class of 2026 prospect still waiting to launch his Mater Dei varsity time.

Still, he has scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Miami, Arizona, Oregon and now the University of Washington.

Last Thursday, the Huskies offered Smith just like the others — based on good faith from the various 7-on-7 events and other recruiting showcase moments.

Smith and fellow 2026 Mater Dei wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt both received UW scholarship offers this past week. Dixon-Wyatt got on the field for 4 catches last season as a freshman.

However, Smith has no discernible high school statistics as of yet, no highlight video, just a lot of potential based on those outside auditions.

What's interesting is Smith might have more scholarship offers already than some of the Mater Dei veterans who played ahead of him last fall and piled up plenty of numbers and video clips.
