2026 is still a long way off, but Washington's coaching staff is getting ahead of the game by extending scholarship offers to rising sophomores on the west coast. The latest to receive an offer is Helix High School two-way player Brandon "Dash" Arrington.

Arrington, a product of La Mesa, California, plays both wide receiver and cornerback for Helix and Washington's offer became his third Division I offer behind Arizona and Arkansas State. Listed as an athlete on 247 Sports, it can be assumed that Arrington's offer came to play wide receiver since it was delivered by wide receivers coach Jamarcus Shephard.

Listed at 6-foot and 180 pounds, Arrington has a lot of room to grow into his frame while also retaining his athleticism. As a freshman, he's put up some impressive track times while running the 100 and 200-meter dash.

Track times can usually be a very good gauge of a high school prospect's athleticism and when it comes to Arrington, he seems to be in a very good spot as a freshman. He reported a 10.58 100-meter dash time and a 21.29 200-meter time, both of which are the top times for a freshman in the state according to Milesplit California.

On film, Arrington has a lot of work to do to refine his craft, but all the signs of a future four-star receiver are evident even as a freshman. He has the speed to run by cornerbacks even when he's given a cushion and also clearly takes a lot of pride in his run blocking, running full speed at defensive backs every chance he gets.

As he gets older and continues to work on running crisper routes and getting cleaner releases off the line of scrimmage, the offers are going to roll in for Arrington.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
