In this story:

They make movies in the San Fernando Valley, northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Every kind imaginable. Disney, Warner Brothers, adult films. Studios and warehouses are everywhere.

Amid all of this frenzied cinematic activity, Jae'on Young deserves a featured role. However, his football game highlights will have to do for now. They're rated PG — pretty good.

Young is a 5-foot-10, 150-pound cornerback, a 4-star recruit in the Class of 2025, coming off a fairly productive sophomore season for Sierra Canyon High School, which is found in Chatsworth, in the heart of the Valley.

Kalen DeBoer's University of Washington football recruiters apparently like what they see so far of this young ballhawk in his game footage that's neatly spliced together. On Tuesday, they offered Young a scholarship, his sixth overall. Other pursuers are Arizona, Boston College, BYU, California and Washington State.

So instinctive and speedy, Young finished with 7 interceptions in his first varsity season for Sierra Canyon, coming up with a pair in the CIF playoffs against Inglewood, and taking another one 55 yards for a score with 1:04 remaining to wrap up a 35-21 midseason victory over Serra.

He's got all the right skills to be an elite playmaker, namely his speed, with 10.88 and 21.87 times in the 100-and 200-meter dashes, which should make a lot of schools chase after him.

For now, the Huskies are one of the first to get an offer to him. They can remind Young how they've been DBU as recently as 2021 and are going to great lengths to restore that reputation this coming season.
