With the start of a new football season officially a week away, the majority of Washington's class of 2024 looks to be locked in. Save for discussing any last-minute flips, like Caleb Presley on early signing day in 2022, it doesn't appear that the Huskies are going to add a significant amount of prospects to the class.

But the Huskies still have needs at multiple positions, namely at running back, defensive back and linebacker.

Which uncommitted prospects do the coaching staff have its eye on as the season gets underway?

DB Kyan McDonald

The uncommitted, three-star cornerback prospect from O'Dea High School in Seattle is someone the Washington coaching staff should be keeping a close eye on this fall. After taking five secondary players in the class of 2023, McDonald would be another addition to the defensive backfield.

RB Jason Brown

McDonald's teammate at O'Dea, the top 100 prospect has cut his list of schools to three: Washington, Oregon and Michigan State. While it sounds like the Huskies aren't the frontrunners to secure his services, it wouldn't be a surprise if he took an official visit to his hometown school at some point in the fall.

DL Jericho Johnson

One of the nation's top defensive tackles, Johnson took an official visit to Washington in June and rumors have been swirling in the recruiting world for a while that the Huskies are the favorites to land his services.

Oregon and USC are going to make a push in the fall that will probably include the highly-touted prospect taking an official visit to both schools, but if Washington can convince him to take an unofficial visit at any point in the fall, it bodes well for the Huskies ahead of his commitment in December.

OT Ikinasio Tupou

Like Johnson, the three-star offensive tackle took his official visit to Washington in June and appears to be very high on the Huskies. Much like true freshmen Sioane Faasolo and Kahlee Tafai, Tupou possesses elite size and has received "crystal ball" predictions from 247 Sports recruiting insiders.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
