Texas Safety Working to Reschedule Washington Official Visit

In this story:
For Saturday's game against Tulsa, Washington recruiters were prepared to finally host Joshua Lair, a 3-star safety out of Fort Bend Marshall High School in Missouri City, Texas, for an official visit. However, Lair has to reschedule for a third time because of a family matter.
Lair took an unofficial visit to Seattle back in mid-April with a number of other recruits. With that in mind, the UW have been fairly flexible in getting him back to campus for the official visit.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Lair originally planned to take his official UW visit on the June 23-24 weekend, where much of the Husky 2024 class made official commitments.
Given that Lair and his family continue to work with DeBoer's coaching staff to make it happen speaks to the high interest he apparently has in the program. Baylor, LSU and Texas each hosted Lair for an official visit in June but none have been able to secure his commitment.
Currently, the UW holds a pair of 2024 defensive back commits from corner Elias Johnson of Jesuit High School in Portland and Peyton Waters, a versatile athlete from Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California, who can play both safety and corner.
Once this season ends, UW expects to lose only one safety, senior Asa Turner, though he could return for a sixth year with the extra COVID-related season of eligibility extended.
With a limited number of scholarship safeties on the UW roster, Chuck Morrell, the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach, seemingly will want to bolster the position with at least one or two more players before next season.
As a junior for Fort Bend Marshall, Lair recorded a pair of interceptions, returning one for a touchdown; 5 pass break-ups, 3 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 11 games.
