UW Extends Offer to Another Texan, a Houston-Area Safety

In this story:
Since playing in the Alamo Bowl and beating the Texas Longhorns six weeks ago, Kalen DeBoer and his University of Washington football staff seem determined to add another Texan.
They've made scholarship offers to nine prospects from the Lone Star state, including seven in one week in mid-January.
The latest recipient is Joshua Lair, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety from Marshall High School in Missouri City, just outside of Houston.
The Huskies represent his 10th offer alongside Baylor, Utah, Missouri, Kansas, Tulane, UTSA, Arkansas State and Houston Christian.

Although the UW has another Houston secondary import on its roster in cornerback Jaivion Green, DeBoer's recruiters will have to work some to pry this teenager away from Baylor, which appears to be the leader for his services.
"To have my dream school offer me is truly a blessing," Lair told a Baylor recruiting site.
A Class of 2024 recruit, Lair comes off a junior season for a 12-2 Marshall team in which he finished with 54 tackles, including 13 tackles for loss and 3 sacks.
He also forced three fumbles and intercepted two balls, returning one of the pass thefts 12 yards for a touchdown against Willowridge.
The Huskies currently have seven Texans on their roster in wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk (Lufkin), cornerback Jabbar Muhammad (DeSoto), running backs Will Nixon (Waco) and Aaron Dumas (El Paso), and Green (Houston), all holdover players; and a pair of incoming freshmen in edge rusher Anthony James (Lavon) and safety Diesel Gordon (Arlington).
