Washington Offers 2025 NorCal Defensive Back

In this story:
The Washington coaching staff has continued to hand out offers for members of the class of 2025. After heavily recruiting defensive backs over the first few years of Kalen DeBoer's tenure as head coach, it appears he wants that trend to continue.
The latest member of the class of 2025 to receive a scholarship from the Huskies is Christian Brothers High School defensive back Ezekiel Castex. He's listed at 5-10 and 150 pounds and has been receiving a lot of buzz in the recruiting community as a rising star.
Pac-12 schools seem to agree with that assessment, as Washington is the fourth member of the conference to extend an offer to Castex, joining Arizona State, Cal, and Washington State.
Extremely grateful to announce that I have received an offer from @UW_Football thank you @CoachJuice6 for the opportunity to play at the next level. @lem_adams @PGregorian @BrandonHuffman pic.twitter.com/Sf5bP8a8hF

Even at just 150 pounds, Castex is a fearless tackler and he hits very hard for his size. As he continues to add mass, he could end up playing safety at the next level due to his closing speed and ability to attack the ball carrier.
Castex is also incredibly sticky as a corner, with great coverage ability, especially when asked to press. While he doesn't jam receivers early in the play, he rarely gets beaten and doesn't allow many yards after the catch. In off-coverage, he reads the quarterback's eyes very well and breaks toward the intended target before the ball is thrown.
A promising prospect, Castex is sure to see a rise in the national recruiting rankings over the next year and could end up as a high three-star, or low four-star prospect.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
