Washington's Top Signee Shows Off Skill Set at All-America Bowl Practices

The Huskies' 4-star edge rusher was among the best players on the field in San Antonio.

As the Washington Huskies prepare to battle the Michigan Wolverines for the CFP national championship, Kalen DeBoer's coaching staff must be pleased with the success a Husky signee already has found in Texas.

Noah Carter, the top-ranked signee in the 2024 class, is involved in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, an all-star game for touted high school players, and displayed his promising talent against the stout offensive linemen he lined up against during the first two days of practice.

In what has to be a good omen for Monday's national championship game, Carter used his athleticism to earn an easy pass rush win against Michigan's top signee, 4-star offensive tackle Andrew Sprague.

Carter, a 6-foot-4, 228-pound 4-star edge rusher, enjoyed a successful senior season that ended with several Arizona news outlets, including 12 News' Friday Night Fever, naming him defensive player of the year.

While thanking everyone from his family to his coaches for his football success, Carter immediately turned his attention to playing at Washington.

"I definitely can't wait to get to Seattle, grind and try to get a spot as early as I can,” he said.

Talent evaluators have raved about Carter's skill set and the recruiting outlet On3 named him as the West team's second-best performer on Wednesday when he was asked to take on some of the best offensive linemen in the country.

"During the team period in the morning, Carter made a ton of plays, stalking down ball carriers in pursuit," On3's Charles Power said. "During the joint practice, he had a 1-on-1 win over five-star offensive tackle and South Carolina signee Josiah Thompson. Carter’s twitchy athleticism and overall coordination proved to be a significant mismatch for offensive tackles on both sides on Wednesday."

After UW edge rusher Bralen Trice put together a dominant performance in the Sugar Bowl, Carter could be giving the Husky coaching staff a glimpse into the future in San Antonio.
