Who Else Is Washington Targeting In the Secondary?

In this story:
Over the last month or so, recruiting in the secondary has been somewhat up and down for the Washington Huskies. June began with securing official visits from four-star cornerback Santana Wilson and four-star safety Kingston Lopa, who then committed to Texas and Oregon respectively, before taking their visits.
Then the coaching staff closed on a few of its other high-value targets, four-star safety Peyton Waters and three-star cornerback Elias Johnson. However, the only other defensive back that took an official visit to Washington, three-star safety Dontae Carter, chose Vanderbilt over the Huskies.
After taking five defensive backs in the class of 2023, it appears the coaching staff is looking to take three or four members of the secondary in the class of 2024. With more and more recruits committing to schools, who could the Huskies still be pursuing?
Thank you @AggieFootball for a great first Official Visit. My dad and I enjoyed meeting the coaches, players and fellow recruits #gigem #aggieland @CoachBPetrino @CoachBGA @TFordFSP @BrandonHuffman @RealMG96 pic.twitter.com/uR6gxf3zvf

All focus will seemingly turn to in-state prospect Kyan McDonald. Rated as a four-star recruit by 247 Sports, the product of O'Dea High School can play either cornerback or safety at the college level but projects out as a cornerback in the Husky system.
Washington has another high-level talent in its backyard in three-star safety Marquawn McCraney at Highline High School. It appears that McCraney was interested in taking his talents to USC, but since the Trojans have five defensive backs committed, they probably don't have room for him.
The Huskies have also extended a few offers to recruits with projectable body types over the last few weeks, including LaDainian Fields, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect from Oklahoma City. However, in this age of recruiting, you can never rule out the possibility of a flip.
Four-star cornerback Caleb Presley flipped from Oregon to Washington on the early National Signing Day in 2022 as part of a growing trend across the country. While flips can never be counted on, they must be considered as a possibility.
There's still a lot of time left before most recruits put pen to paper in December, but options seem to be running thin for the Huskies. The transfer portal could also hold a few options, but that will also remain a mystery until December.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
