The Huskies got that needed boost on the recruiting trail. After a very slow start to the class of 2024, Washington's commit list now holds 10 members with more coming soon. But who else will fill out the remainder of the class?

Several recruits recently took official visits to Washington who will be making a decision over the new few weeks. That group includes four-star safety Peyton Waters, four-star defensive lineman Dominic Kirks, four-star linebacker Kamar Mothudi, three-star safety Dontae Carter and three-star edge rusher Deshawn Warner.

Washington seems to be in a good position to land at least two or three members of that list by the middle of July. Adding in long-snapper Cannon Skidmore and three-star offensive lineman Ikinasio Tupou, that leaves just a few remaining spots in the class of 2024.

One of them will be held for four-star defensive lineman Jericho Johnson, who was part of the big weekend of official visits. However, he has stated his intentions to take a few more visits in the fall before making a final decision in December.

It's going to be tough to secure a commitment from Johnson, but if the coaching staff can get him to come up on an unofficial visit at some point during the season, that would be a good sign for his recruitment.

Some signs are pointing to a few in-state prospects coming around on Washington. Four-star running back Jason Brown is slated to take an unofficial visit to campus at some point in August and a few of his O'Dea teammates might be joining him.

Four-star offensive lineman Isendre Ahfua also has started to seriously consider Washington in recent months while three-star defensive back Kyan McDonald is rumored to be very high on the coaching staff's list at cornerback.

In recruiting, the possibility of a late flip always remains, but those are unpredictable. If the staff can land all three O'Dea prospects, plus maybe a few flips towards the end of the season to round out the class, a strong possibility remains the UW class of 2024 can still end up inside the top 25.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
