What the ESPN BPI Says About WVU's Chances Against Texas Tech

Will the Mountaineers get the season sweep over the Red Raiders?

West Virginia returns home to the WVU Coliseum Saturday afternoon looking to sweep the regular season series against Texas Tech. West Virginia leads the all-time series 17-8 and are 8-3 against the Red Raiders when playing in Morgantown.

The Mountaineers won the first matchup in Lubbock, 76-61, thanks to breakout performances from Seth Wilson (5/12 3FG) and James Okonkwo (5 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks). Joe Toussaint led all scorers with 22 points but a large portion of that came from the free throw line (12/14). As a team, WVU went 28/35 from the line.

Texas Tech didn't have big man Fardaws Aimaq for that game as he was nursing a foot injury. He will, however, be available for this one. The 6'11", 245-pound versatile big can do it all and on occasion will even step out and make some threes/long range jumpers. He was big in Tech's 74-67 win over No. 6 Texas, knocking down 6/9 shots from the field, finishing with 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and a block.

According to the ESPN BPI, West Virginia has an 80.3% chance to win while Texas Tech has just a 19.7% chance to win.
