Huggins Explains Why Jimmy Bell Was Furious with TCU Fans

Things got a little heated last night after the game in Fort Worth.

Jimmy Bell Jr. didn't have one of his best games but it was what happened at the end of the game that had everyone talking about him late Tuesday night and into the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

Shortly after the final horn sounded, the two teams went through the handshake line and Bell saw what was going on in the stands involving his family and was not putting up with it.

WVU head coach Bob Huggins explained to radio play-by-play man Tony Caridi what had transpired to cause Bell to react the way he did.

"They were on us," Huggins said about the TCU fans. "But I mean, they are every time we come here. That should never cause anything. You got a bunch of kids up there pointing and calling names and things. I mean, my mom told me a long time ago sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you. So, there's no excuse for that. From what I understand, one of 'em was pointing his finger in Jimmy Bell's mother's face, which Jimmy didn't take very kindly to. He's not that kind of kid."

Why the fans were going at Bell's mother is unknown but Bell made sure to stick up for her during the situation and then a little later on social media.
