Injury Update on Noah Farrakhan & Kerr Kriisa

Eilert says WVU's backcourt injuries are not as bad as they appeared on TV.

As if West Virginia hasn't gone through enough adversity this season, guards Noah Farrakhan and Kerr Kriisa both went down on the same play at different areas of the court during Monday night's loss to TCU.

Farrakhan grabbed his ankle immediately after getting the ball taken away from him in front of the Mountaineer bench and then Kriisa went down at mid-court following a collision. Both players were down on the floor for a few minutes and were attended to by WVU trainers.

Following the game interim head coach Josh Eilert gave an update on each player's injury.

"First impressions you talk to the trainers, it doesn't seem like it's nearly as bad as it probably looked in person. I was a little worried with Noah. Kerr’s had a shoulder injury that he's fought over the course of his career. So, whatever happened with that screen is concerning but Noah’s issue doesn’t seem to be nearly as bad as what it probably looked on the floor. I was worried that maybe that was an Achilles [injury] or something like that the way he went down, but hopefully it's just a light ankle sprain. Hopefully we'll work through that this week."

West Virginia won't be back in action until this Saturday when they play host to the Baylor Bears.
