Keys for West Virginia to Stun Kansas On the Road

In this story:
West Virginia is 0-10 all-time when playing Kansas at Phog Allen Fieldhouse. Don't worry, they're not the only ones who have been unable to win games there. As a matter of fact, Bill Self boasts a 305-17 home record throughout his 20 years on the job.
So, how can the Mountaineers pull off the unthinkable? Other than the simple answer of playing perfect, here are a few areas they must execute in.
Get to the free throw line
West Virginia is one of the best teams in the country at getting to the free throw line. They'll need to do it a bunch to be able to keep pace with Kansas, who likes to really get up and down the floor. By driving the ball to the rim and getting fouled, WVU can grab free points while also causing disruption to the flow of the game. Erik Stevenson hasn't shot it as well on the road, so if that trend continues, WVU has no chance to hang around in this one if they're throwing up 20-25 shots from deep. Attack the rim and crash the boards for second chance points.
Defend the arc
Arguably the biggest issue in the first matchup with the Jayhawks was the perimeter defense. As a team, Kansas shot 11/24 from three-point land. Gradey Dick hit 4/6 and Dajuan Harris Jr. went 3/6. WVU's guards have to do a much better job of closing out hard on three-point shooters and not losing their man in ball screens. If Kansas starts hitting shots from three, it could get ugly quick.
Stay under 10 turnovers
Turnovers have plagued this team at times, most recently in the loss to Texas Tech. I understand that Phog Allen is a very difficult place to focus but the Mountaineers can't afford to give away possessions. Staying under 10 turnovers is a tough ask for this group, considering they've only done it seven times. That said, when they do, they're 5-2. Take care of the ball and you give yourself a chance to win. It sounds cliche, but for this team, it's critical.
