Massive Week of Portal Recruiting on Deck for WVU

West Virginia is on the verge of adding to the roster once again.

Whether it's On3, 247 Sports, or Evan Miyakawa, West Virginia is widely viewed as having one of the top transfer classes in all of college basketball. Jose Perez (Manhattan), Omar Silverio (Manhattan), and Kerr Kriisa (Arizona) bring a much-needed boost to WVU's backcourt along with a ton of college experience.

However, Bob Huggins and Co. are far from being finished. They are getting into contact with players in the portal nearly every day and are making some serious progress with a handful of them. Over the course of the next 7-10 days, West Virginia will be hosting three transfers on a visit

Jesse Edwards, Syracuse (Apr. 14)

Edwards saw minimal playing time during his first two seasons with the Orange but really blossomed into a quality starter in 2021-22 averaging 12 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game. This past season, he took it to the next level averaging a double-double while maintaining his elite rim protection numbers. He totaled 14.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per contest. Edwards will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Caleb Grill, Iowa State (Apr. 16-18)

Throughout his four-year career, three years at Iowa State and one at UNLV, Grill has been a fantastic three-point shooter, knocking down shots at a 34% clip. Grill averaged 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

John Hugley, Pitt (Apr. 21-23)

In 32 games last season, Hugley was considered one of the better bigs in the ACC, averaging 14.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. In addition to WVU, Hugley has also heard from Michigan, Oregon, Miami, Rutgers, Xavier, Arkansas, LSU, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Maryland, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, UCF, Wisconsin, Butler, Dayton, Ohio, Arizona State, Georgia, Duquesne, Oakland, Loyola Marymount, and Cleveland State. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
