Oscar Tshiebwe Goes Undrafted in 2023 NBA Draft

In this story:
Oscar Tshiebwe had the option to return to Kentucky for one more year but opted to remain in the 2023 NBA Draft and forgo his senior season. Unfortunately for him, he did not hear his name called and is now searching for an opportunity as an undrafted free agent.
Going undrafted is a big deal, especially contractually. Those players aren't guaranteed a spot on the roster past Summer League and even then, still have to prove themselves in preseason to be placed on the G League roster.
During his freshman campaign at West Virginia, he looked like a future first-round pick. There was even some thought as to whether or not he would be a one and done. He led the Mountaineers in both scoring (11.2 ppg) and rebounding (9.3) and was named a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team and a member of the All-Big 12 Second Team.
After transferring to Kentucky, Tshiebwe saw his numbers rise dramatically to 17.4 points, 15.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. At the end of the season, he was named the recipient of the 2022 Wooden Award, Naismith Award, SEC Player of the Year, and earned consensus All-American honors. This past season, he saw those numbers dip to 16.5 points and 13.7 rebounds, but still led the nation in rebounds per game.
Despite owning the glass at the collegiate level, a couple concerns with Tshiebwe at the next level is his size and his shot-making ability. He doesn't offer much offense outside of what he does at the rim and as a 6'9" center, he'll have some difficulty posting up with the numerous seven-footers around the league.
