West Virginia University with play-by-play caller Tony Caridi announced on the pregame radio show forward Pat Suemnick is cleared to play and will start versus the No. 15 Oklahoma Sooners. WVU head coach Josh Eilert stated Suemick was suffering from an illness on Tuesday.

Suemnick's role on the team increased following the injury to center Jesse Edwards in the loss to UMass in mid-December. Edwards leads the team in rebounding at 8.7 rpg and is second on the team in scoring with 14.8 points per game.

Suemnick has played 21 minutes or more in the last four games and has led the team in scoring in two of the last three games, averaging 14 points and 5.5 rebounds in the two contests. The six-eight forward is coming off career-highs 16 points and six rebounds in the Mountaineers win over Texas on Saturday.

The junior is averaging 4.1 points and 2.5 rebounds on the season.
