BREAKING: RaeQuan Battle to Transfer to West Virginia

Another big pickup for the Mountaineers in the portal.

After missing out on Iowa State transfer Caleb Grill, West Virginia bounced back quickly by landing Montana State transfer guard RaeQuan Battle.

Battle entered the portal last week and had received interest from the likes of Alabama, Cal, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, Wake Forest, and several others.

Battle spent the first two years of his career at Washington, where he averaged 4.8 points per game in a rather limited role. Following the 2020-21 campaign he transferred to Montana State. Over the past two seasons, Battle has become a big part of their success averaging 13.1 points per contest. This season alone, he went for 17.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks a game while shooting 47% from the field and 35% from three.

He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
