Tre Mitchell Reportedly Set to Visit Kentucky

Mitchell is weighing his options as West Virginia searches for a new head coach.

UPDATE: Adam Zagoria of New York Times has reported that Mitchell does NOT have a visit scheduled to Kentucky. But has heard from Kansas State, Memphis, and DePaul. This goes against the report via 247 Sports seen below.

Senior forward Tre Mitchell is the first West Virginia player to enter the transfer portal following the resignation of head coach Bob Huggins. Transfers are expected to happen, especially while WVU is in a coaching search. You can't blame the kids for keeping all options open at this point and there's still a chance that Mitchell could return to Morgantown.

However, this weekend, Mitchell will be taking a visit to Kentucky, according to Travis Branham of 247 Sports.

Mitchell played the first two years of his collegiate career at UMass before taking a pit stop at Texas en route to a year at West Virginia. In 34 games for the Mountaineers this past season, Mitchell averaged 11.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 47% from the floor and 36% from three-point land.

Mitchell has one year of eligibility remaining and would be able to play immediately if he does transfer to another school.
