Morgantown, WV - The West Virginia Mountaineers (15-11, 4-9) welcome the Texas Tech Red Raiders (14-12, 3-10) on Saturday with Tipoff set for noon and the action airing on ESPNU.

The Mountaineers ended a 12 game Big 12 Conference road losing streak in the first meeting of the season in Lubbock with a 76-61 victory with a trio of guards combing for 53 points. Joe Toussaint led all scorers with 22 points while Erik Stevenson was an efficient 9-11 from the free throw line for 16 points and Seth Wilson compiled a career-best five three-pointers for a career-high 15 points.

Texas Tech has won four of its last six games since the loss to West Virginia and are coming off wins over Kansas State and Texas.

The Red Raiders shot over 40% during the six-game span, a mark they hit three times in the first eight games of conference play.

“They won some games and I think they’re playing with more confidence now,” said West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins. “He’s (Texas Tech head coach Mark Adams) a good coach and he’s had time. They’re doing some different things than what they were, really driving the ball. They are doing a good job driving the ball.

Forward Fardaws Aimaq has returned to the court after suffering a foot injury in the preseason and has been credited for some of the Red Raiders’ success as of late, nearly recording a double double in two of the five games his appeared, averaging 8.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Kevin Obanor leads the team in scoring with 15.2 ppg to go with a team-leading 6.3 rebounds per game while guard De’Vion Harmon is second on the team in scoring at 13.8 ppg and dishes a team-high 3.5 assists per game.

West Virginia is looking to bounce back after going 0-2 on its recent two-game road trip, suffering losses to top 10 opponents Texas and Baylor but the Mountaineers looks to extend their home winning streak to four.

The Mountaineers are 17-8 versus the Red Raiders and have won three of the last five meetings.
