Defense being the focus in this one

"Ronnie [Everhart] did a good job of scouting report for them and we had two pretty good workouts. Yeah, I thought this was our best defensive effort of the year. Probably our most complete effort of the year."

Why the defense was better

"Well, we had a long talk about basically what we've got left. What happens if we win, what happens if we lose. I was really disappointed in our effort the prior game. We're up eight and we give those eight back and seemed like a matter of five seconds. I just think they were ready because they know they gave one away. We've got three more to go now and we've got to see what we can do with those three."

Having this much time to prepare for Kansas

"I think the biggest thing we've got to do is get our legs back. We're not going to do anything tomorrow. We're going to do a little bit on Thursday and then go light again on Friday. We've got to have legs."

Tre Mitchell's night

"I liked his versatility. He can step out on the floor and make shots. He can play the post. They put a smaller guy on him because he was making shots out on the perimeter and he took them inside and scored inside. I thought that was without a question his best overall performance. We were all congratulating him in the locker room because he really did a good job of guarding. He switched off on guards, stayed in front of them. Really did a goo job moving his feet. That's the best I've ever seen Tre play."

How Mitchell impacts the offense when he's playing well

"Well, we've struggled to have an inside presence of late, so it collapses the defense. I think it gives Erik [Stevenson] more opportunities. It gives Emmitt [Matthews Jr.] more opportunities. Keddy [Johnson] got in foul trouble but he was on his way to having a big night. But I think a lot of that was because our post guys were as active as what they were."
