WVU G Kedrian Johnson Ruled Out vs Kansas

The Mountaineers will be down a man this Saturday.

West Virginia head basketball coach Bob Huggins revealed on his radio show Thursday evening that starting point guard Kedrian Johnson will not play in Saturday's Big 12 home opener due to a concussion.

This is a big loss for the Mountaineers, who are in desperate need of a conference win after beginning league play with a pair of road losses to Kansas State and Oklahoma State.

In 14 games this season, Johnson is averaging 9.1 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per while shooting 33% from the field and 27% from three-point range. Joe Toussaint or Kobe Johnson will likely be inserted into the starting lineup in Kedrian's place.

West Virginia and No. 3 Kansas are set to tip off Saturday at 6 p.m. EST. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
