WVU Interested in Marshall Transfer, Sun Belt Freshman of the Year

Will the big man stay in the Mountain State?

Add another one to the list. West Virginia is one of several schools that have reached out to Marshall center transfer Micah Handlogsten, according to Jamie Shaw of On3.

Other schools that have expressed interest in the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year include Arkansas, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Virginia, and many others.

The Huntersville, NC native started all 32 games for the Thundering Herd this season and averaged 7.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game while owning a 66% field goal percentage.

The 7'1" big would immediately become the tallest player on West Virginia's roster and would give them another rim protector to go alongside James Okonkwo and Mohamed Wague.

He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
