REPORT: Big 12 Could Expand 'As Soon As This Month'

The summer, the Big 12 Conference will welcome four new members to the league; BYU, Central Florida, Cincinnati, and Houston.
Since Oklahoma and Texas informed the conference that it will be leaving for the SEC, the Big 12 has been very active to ensure that the league doesn't collapse which was they initial thought when the two big-name programs formally made that decision.
Instead, new Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark, along with some help from former commissioner, Bob Bowlsby, have positioned the league to be one of the strongest Power Five conferences despite losing its two biggest brands. Not only are the four institutions joining the league this summer have respected football programs, but will make what is already the strongest basketball league in the country even stronger.
But Yormark and co. aren't done adding to the conference yet.
According to a report from Stewart Mandel and Max Olson of The Athletic, the Big 12 has had contact with Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah - all members of the PAC 12. The report also states that they are in "deep discussions" with Gonzaga, who has become one of the best men's basketball programs in the country.
Those additions could be made to the Big 12 as soon as this month, per Mandel.
