Big 12 Officially Adds Four New Members

It's July 1st which means BYU, Central Florida, Cincinnati, and Houston are now officially members of the Big 12 Conference.

West Virginia will face each of the four new members this football season playing at Houston (10/12), at UCF (10/28), vs BYU (11/4), vs Cincinnati (11/18).

Cincinnati, Central Florida, and Houston come over from the American Athletic Conference while BYU has been an Independent since 2011.

The additions of these four institutions took place after the league was notified by Oklahoma and Texas about their intentions to depart for the SEC a couple of years ago.

But the Big 12 isn't going to stop adding.

Commissioner Brett Yormark has been aggressive in his expansion pursuit and hopes to form a true, nationwide conference. The league has been rumored to have had talks with several PAC 12 schools and basketball powers Gonzaga, and UConn.
