Is the Big 12 Done Expanding?

The Big 12 Conference seems happy with its future set up.

It's been quite the run for Commissioner Brett Yormark and the Big 12 Conference. Over the last few weeks, the league stabilized its future with the additions of Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah to bring the league to 16 members.

After the departure of those four and with Oregon and Washington bolting to the Big Ten, the PAC 12 Conference will have just four members remaining - Cal, Oregon State, Stanford, and Washington State. The initial thought was that maybe Yormark and the Big 12 devour up the rest of the PAC 12 and become the first conference to reach 20 teams.

But it appears the Big 12 doesn't have any interest in that.

According to Brett McMurphy of The Action Network, the Big 12 is "done" adding.

This isn't all that surprising. There's a reason why the remaining PAC 12 schools are the forgotten four. They just don't add a ton of value. If the Big 12 were to extend an invite, it wouldn't come with a full revenue share right out of the gate like the others will receive when they join.

The Big 12 might be "done" for now, but if the ACC begins to crumble, it would be wise for Yormark to get in on the action once again and try to add one or two schools from that league which would give Cincinnati, UCF, and West Virginia another eastern partner.
