Bruce Irvin announced on social media he will be inducted into the West Virginia University Sports Hall of Fame as part of the 2023 class. The induction ceremony is set for the morning of September 23.

Irvin spent two years (2010-11) in Morgantown, he racked up 22.5 sacks which ranks fifth in program history and sits third in the WVU single season record book after recording 15 sacks his senior season. 

Irvin was drafted 15th overall by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2012 NFL Draft where he spent the first four seasons of his NFL career, tallying 130 tackles, including 25 tackles for a loss and 22 sacks. 

He signed with the Oakland Raiders for 2.5 seasons before his release and signed with his hometown team, the Atlanta Falcons. 

The Georgia native wrapped up his final four years of his NFL career returning to Seattle before a stint with the Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears and went back to Seattle last season.

For his Career, Irvin has 343 tackles, including 69 tackles for a loss and 55.5 sacks and 16 force fumbles a pair of interceptions and two touchdowns.
