Former WVU DB Davis Mallinger Chooses New School

Another former Mountaineer headed out west.

Monday morning, former West Virginia defensive back/wide receiver Davis Mallinger announced that he will be transferring to Nevada.

Mallinger came to West Virginia as a two-way athlete, who started on the defensive side of the ball. After suffering an injury toward the end of his first season, he made the flip over to the offensive side of the ball to play wide receiver. Mallinger was unable to create a role for himself on that side and with Traylon Ray, Rodney Gallagher III, and Hudson Clement surpassing him, he hit the portal.

Mallinger will head to Nevada as a defensive back and will join another former Mountaineer, Cortez Braham Jr.
