Grier Dazzles at Pro Day

At this point, all of us have seen Will Grier play a lot of football. Over two seasons, nearly 7,400 yards and 71 TD's-worth of tape have convinced at least a few people that Grier is NFL-ready. Yet, there are detractors aplenty that have pegged Grier has a mid-to-late round developmental prospect. If ever his goal was to win over his antagonists, he may have made some serious headway on that goal today at his pro day in Morgantown.

In front of representatives from every NFL team, Grier went to work and did nothing but impress according to NFL insider Adam Schefter:

Schefter is something of a brand name in the pro football world, so this is a considerable vote of confidence. However, the update mogul himself wasn't the only person in the media praising Grier's showing:

It's curious that Grier is just now catching fire this late in the pre-draft process as he's had opportunities to display his skillset at both the Senior Bowl in Mobile and the NFL combine several weeks ago in Indianapolis. However, an up close look away from the media cavalcade that has seemingly enveloped players like Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins has finally given NFL teams the necessary bandwidth to zero in on just what makes Grier a legitimate QB1 in waiting.

If the buzz coming out of Caperton indoor is to be believed, Grier displayed everything from bullet-fast throws across the middle to deep balls with impeccable placement and trajectory to go along with fluid footwork and great control. In addition, he seems to have impressed a number of league brass off the field with his football IQ and the ease with which he carries himself. In the simplest of terms, Air Grier absolutely owned it and all of professional football took notice.

How this will all play out leading up to draft day is anyone's guess, but it is certainly an immense shot of encouragement to Grier and his camp that his name could very well be called in the early phases of the 2019 draft.
