Morgantown, WV - West Virginia quarterback Garrett Green threw for 210 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 154 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Mountaineers (7-4, 5-3) past the Cincinnati Bearcats (3-8, 1-7) Saturday evening 42-21.

After missing a 52-yard field goal on the opening possession of the game, the Mountaineers constructed a 14-play 91-yard drive capped off with a three-yard touchdown keeper by Garrett Greene for a 7-0 first quarter lead. 

West Virginia added to its lead on the ensuing possession. Green kept the drive with a eight-yard scamper for the first down before connecting with freshman running back Jahiem White for the 75-yard touchdown pass and a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter. 

The Mountaineer defense set up Greene and the offense at the Cincinnati 40-yard line and it took two plays for West Virginia to find the endzone. Greene went off the left side for a 27-yard gain and CJ Donaldson finished the drive with a 13-yard touchdown run for a 21-0 lead. 

The Bearcats got on the board following an 11-play 75-yard drive Corey Kiner ran for 25 yards on four carries and quarterback Brady Lichtenberg ripped off a pair of runs for 32 yards before Emory Jones pushed it in on the quarterback sneak to cut into the Mountaineers lead 21-7 with 1:32 remaining in the first half. 

The Mountaineers quickly answered before the half. Greene went 3-3 for 49 yards before rushing for a 26-yard touchdown, taking a 28-7 lead into halftime.

The Mountaineer offense continued its dominance on their first drive of the second half. Greene got the drive started with a pair of completions for 23 yards before Jahiem White produced 31 yards on three consecutive carries into Cincinnati territory and Greene capped off the drive with an 18-yard touchdown run and a 35-7 advantage. 

On West Virginia's ensuing possession, Greene connected with Kole Taylor and Devin Carter for a total of 40 yards, then White, again, with three consecutive carries tallied 33 yards and the touchdown for a 42-7 lead with 31 seconds remaining in the third quarter. 

Cincinnati added to its total early in the fourth quarter, driving 96 yards on six plays, capped off with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Chamon Metayer. 

Following a Garrett Greene interception, Cincinnati 10-play 83-yard touchdown drive with Metayer hauling in his second touchdown reception of the game for a final of 42-21.
