Victor Scott has only been out of the WVU baseball program for a year but he's already made his way up to the Double-A level in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system.

After a terrific start to the season in High-A Peoria, Scott got the promotion to Springfield. In 66 games at Peoria, Scott hit two homers, drove in 29 runs, and had a slash line of .289/.365/.398. Scott has carried that success to the next level where in just nine games he has a homer, five RBI and is hitting at a .278 clip.

Saturday, Scott became the first player in West Virginia University baseball history to participate in the MLB Futures Game, which is the premier All-Star game of the minor league level, showcasing prospects from all levels of the minors. In the game, Scott went 1-for-2 with a hard hit base knock to right center and a pair of stolen bags.

Highlights from the game:

Scott is currently ranked the No. 25 prospect in the Cardinals' system by MLB.com.
