WVU's Michael Grove to Get Start for Dodgers

Michael Grove was a late add to the Los Angeles Dodgers Opening Day roster, but now, he'll be getting the ball on Monday night when the team begins a quick two-game set with the Colorado Rockies.
Grove will be taking the place of Ryan Pepiot, who landed on the injured list with a left oblique strain. This will be a big opportunity for Grove to prove he's deserving of not only staying in the big leagues but having a spot in the starting rotation.
In seven games (six starts) a year ago, Grove allowed 15 runs on 32 hits through 29.1 innings of work. He struck out 24 batters compared to walking 10 and finished with a WHIP of 1.432.
Grove posted a 2.87 ERA and was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2017. Unfortunately due to an arm injury, he was unable to finish out the 2017 season and was forced to miss the entire 2018 season. Despite that, the Los Angeles Dodgers still had faith in his abilities and selected the Wheeling, WV native in the 2nd round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.
