One of the many recruits that were on hand for the West Virginia spring game last month was class of 2024 safety Cedric Franklin (6'1", 180 lbs) of Kell High School in Marietta, Georgia.

A few days ago, Franklin recapped his visit with Mountaineers Now.
"Things couldn’t have gone better. I brought my parents up this time so they could experience it here and they loved it. I built a deeper relationship with the coaches and so did my parents. We also built relationships inside the community and loved the town. I took pictures, had my parents tour, and talked with all of the coaches."
During the trip back to Georgia, Franklin and his parents had a conversation about WVU and they came away impressed with what the school had to offer as well.
"They had all great things to say about the place," Franklin said. "We talked about how I think I would fit in up there and whether I would be comfortable. They spoke very highly of the staff and thought they were great people!"
Franklin has spoken with several members of WVU's staff throughout his recruitment, having most of his talks with special teams coordinator/linebackers coach Jeff Koonz and safeties coach Dontae Wright.
"It wasn’t my first time meeting them but the first time I did, I honestly thought they were great people and great coaches."
Franklin currently holds offers from Akron, Appalachian State, Boston College, Charlotte, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Liberty, Memphis, Missouri, Old Dominion, South Florida, and Toledo. However, WVU is the one school that is sticking out the most at the moment.
He also tells Mountaineers Now that he is already working on setting up an official visit to WVU and is hoping to make his decision ahead of his senior season this fall.
