Early Signing Day Primer: What's Going to Happen?

Christmas is just around the corner, but it will feel like Christmas for college coaches around the country on Wednesday when they officially add to their football program on the first day of the early signing period.

To give a sneak peek of what will go down tomorrow, we break it all down for you below.

Undecided names to watch

LB Reid Carrico (Ohio State transfer)

Carrico is extremely interested in West Virginia but there is some concern that interest may have cooled off a bit. There isn't a starting spot for him at WVU, so if he is fine with being a rotational depth piece, he'll make the pledge.

CB Cameron Martinez (Ohio State transfer)

I wouldn't completely rule out Martinez, but with the addition of TJ Crandall, I'd be surprised if Martinez is still in play.

CB Devon Marshall (Villanova transfer)

Kind of a mix of the previous two situations above. The coaching staff would still love to have him, but with now a bit of a crowded room I expect Marshall to look elsewhere.

RB Traevon Dunbar (Graniteville, SC)

West Virginia is in a great spot here for the consensus three-star high school running back. Knowing they'd likely lose a running back (or two) to the portal, WVU went heavy pursuit for Dunbar since the end of the regular season. My prediction is WVU.

Flips and flipaways

UCF wide receiver commit Ric'Darious Farmer is on flip watch to the max. He recently took an official visit to WVU and all indications point to him making the flip to the Mountaineers. There's always the chance he stick at UCF, but I like West Virginia's chances here.

As far as the current commits are concerned, I don't see any flipping away from WVU.
