WR Jabari Murphy Reveals Why WVU Made His Top Five

In this story:
Neal Brown has had some success reeling in some talent from the state of Alabama over the years and he's hoping to add to that list with class of 2024 wide receiver Jabari Murphy (6'2", 195 lbs) of Elmore County High School.
A couple of weeks ago, Murphy trimmed his list of interests to just five: Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Penn State, and West Virginia. Recently, Murphy caught up with Mountaineers Now to discuss how serious his interest is in West Virginia.
"Man, with West Virginia, ever since I’ve gotten the offer from them they’ve been hitting my line up making sure I stay contacted with them. And they’ve just been building a bond with me ever since and it felt as if I knew that could be a place I could possibly call home one day, so that’s how I knew they were gonna make the top five."
The lead recruiter for Murphy is wide receivers coach Bilal Marshall, who has done an adequate job of communicating what they will be asking of him and showing Murphy his coaching style.
"The talks have been very good. We always talk about me coming down there to visit and see what it looks like so I can check it out! He’s a great guy. I feel like he could be the right coach for me because he’s worked a lot with WRs and the stuff he talks to me about. I can just tell he’d be a great coach for me.
"We have become very close over the past few months. He is a very good coach and I feel as if I could learn a lot from him. I also trust in what he’s doing over there at West Virginia."
Murphy does not have an official visit set just yet with WVU but that will be mapped out here very soon. As a junior last season, Murphy hauled in 55 receptions for 793 yards and ten touchdowns.
