Robin Atkin Downes joins the cast of Apex Legends as August ‘Ballistic’ Brinkman in Season 17 Arsenal. Ballistic is a disgraced former champion of the Thunderdome Games, a precursor to the modern Apex Games. He’s a 65 year old recluse with an estranged son he would do anything to protect, including rejoining the battle royale.
Robin Atkin Downes is a veteran voice actor who's been lending his vocals to video games for over 20 years starting with Lord of the Rings in 1990 as Legolas.
He has over 460 credits to his name ranging from video games to cartoons and some TV appearances. If his voice sounds familiar, you could’ve heard him in numerous projects over the past two decades including some fan favorite TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Babylon 5.
Some of his recent video game credits include The Spider in Destiny 2, Travis Touchdown in the No More Heroes franchise and Emperor Nefarious in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. But he’s got some impressive animation voice roles under his belt as well.
You may recognize his voice from Netflix and League of Legends popular series Arcane. He lent his voice to several characters in Marvel’s What If…? On Disney Plus. He’s also the voice behind Scarecrow and Thomas Wayne in the recent Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two.
