Fans and players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are invited to join in the first online competition of 2024 with the Blueberry Prologue. This online tournament will take place on the weekend of January 12th to January 14th. Below are all the details Pokémon Violet and Scarlet players will need to sign up and participate in the Blueberry Prologue tournament.

It’s the first competition to include all the new Pokémon added along with the Indigo Disc and Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Violet and Scarlet.

Blueberry Prologue Battle Format

The Blueberry Prologue online competition will feature the double battles format. Teams can have only Pokémon from the Blueberry Regional Pokedex, which includes Terapagos, but excludes any regional variants and forms not native to the Blueberry Academy.

Pokémon are also prohibited from including two of the same species or holding the same item. For a full list of allowed and banned Pokémon, consult this list from Serebii.net.

How to Sign up for the Blueberry Prologue Online Competition

Since the Blueberry Prologue is an online tournament, all players will be able to participate simply by playing their version of Pokémon Scarlet or Violet at the online competition sections of the Poke Portal’s Battle Stadium.

The Blueberry Prologue Online Competition starts on Friday, January 12th at 00:00 UTC. Players can play up to 15 battles on January 12th, up to 30 battles on January 13th, and up to 45 battles on January 14th. The competition ends on Sunday, January 14th at 23:59 UTC.

Sign-ups are also done through the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games on your Nintendo Switch. To register enter your Poke Portal, then select Battle Stadium, then Online Competitions, then Search for a competition in the official competitions column.

Players register and lock a team at the time of registration which starts on January 4th and will remain open until the tournament ends on January 14th.

Though the Blueberry Prologue Online Competition is an official online competition it is not part of the 2024 official circuit. So players will not receive any Championship Points for participation or placement.

The prizes for participating in at least one battle of the Blueberry Prologue Online Competition include 10,000 League Points.
